ANIMALS AVAILABLE FOR RE-HOMING
We are a family run exotic rescue which rescues
all types of exotic animals. No animal will ever be turned away (although we do
have some space restrictions when it comes to amphibians and turtles). Whether
it's change of circumstances or an animal has been mistreated, We will re-home
them and make their stay with us as comfortable as possible. We can travel
throughout North West of England and North Wales to rescue. We are a non
profitable organisation. We totally rely on donations made by the public and
businesses to keep going. All donations are welcome, however little it may be.
If you would like to donate anything including equipment for the animals, we
would be most grateful. If you need any advice or have an animal in your care
that you don't want or able to keep anymore please get in touch through
telephone or e-mail.
ALL DONATIONS TO HELP WITH FOOD AND BEDDING COSTS ARE WELCOMED
DONATIONS OF ANY SPARE EQUIPMENT YOU MAY HAVE ARE ALSO WELCOMED
Our aim is to
rescue sick or unwanted reptiles and exotic mammals and re-home to caring
responsible homes or offer sanctuary here should they be unfit for re-homing. We
also offer free friendly advice if you want to own a reptile or if you can no
longer care for one. We can accommodate most reptiles and exotic pets.
When donating
your animal, feel free to ask as many questions as you like, for example, where
he/she will be living or about its after care. We don't have a problem
answering your questions.
We will only re-home with registered re-homers and contacts through our own
database, you can apply to be a registered re-homer.
Any animals which cannot be re-homed for various reasons we will keep with us
to be used to educate the public on caring for reptiles and overcoming fear, to
raise awareness. We also keep old animals that need a lot of care here to live
out the rest of their lives. any turtles or terrapins coming to us will not be
re-homed and will stay with us.
Re-homing is
always available. If you are after a certain reptile or can re-house a certain
reptile, then please contact us we always need people on standby. It could take
anything from 6 days to 6 months for us to call you depending on what animal you
want to re-home. So fingers crossed and hoping that people actually give us a
call instead of letting the animal suffer
A re-homing fee
will apply along with all necessary checks and proof of ID The re-homing fee is
a simple fixed donation that goes towards the expenses of the animals that
require re-homing, and non refundable. Please email for more
details.
SOME OF THE ANIMALS WE HAVE TAKEN IN AND IN SOME CASES RE-HOMED
Turtles & Terrapins

|
We have a large collection of Red Eared and Yellow Bellied terrapins, which live in one or our ponds. Some are full-grown and are about 15" in size. All these have outgrown their original homes and the previous owners can no longer house them anymore. This is an ongoing problem, when they are small, they look so cute and the size of a matchbox, can easily be kept in tanks but unfortunately grow quite quickly to the size of a diner plate. It is possible to hibernate terrapins for a short time over the winter period. They must have at least two foot of soil to bury themselves in if you intend to let them hibernate naturally or they can be boxed in a cold area. We keep ours awake all winter. The pond water must be kept up to temperature, below this they can not feed and will eventually stave. Most pet shops are so eager to sell these little things, but not so eager to mention the size they grow to. Terrapins will eat almost anything, but commercially made dried terrapin food is quite adequate as it contains all the vitamins and minerals that they need. They can be very aggressive and needs to be handled with care.
UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE ANY MORE TURTLES AT THE PRESENT TIME DUE TO SPACE RESTRICTIONS |
